Take this for what it's worth of course - I'm not a powerlifter (or strongman), nor am I jacked 'n tanned and all that - but in my honest opinion, you don't need any PWO at all.

Controversial? Probably not even that. Subjective? Yes. But there it is. Anecdotally, I know - and know of - some seriously huge and strong guys who don't take PWOs, and never have.

Maybe try going without, see if you suffer anything disastrous (I doubt it ), and go from there.

No coffee or caffeine? I feel bad for you man. Maybe try decaf? Some of the naturally occurring chemicals in coffee improve mood and performance.

If you want to try, you can make your own PWO with bulk powders.
Id say L-citrulline, beta-alanine, choline of some sort, and some fruit juice.

None of it should be very expensive, and it should last long

Cheers for all the advice people, very helpful.

I ended up putting some fruit into a blender, kiwi, bannans, strawberries, etc;

I'll look into the other things you sugested too, do some experimenting. Good wealth of information here.

Thanks again guys.

For what it's worth, I experimented with mp assault pre workout, worked for about a week, then I started feeling worse and worse. Gave it up and after one week all was well again. I use a protein shake before working out if its been a few hours since eating.

Supplement wise I have everything, no xplode, halo, black powder, superpump, warrior rage...I could go on all day. It's all crap. I train at 8pm and have whatever carbs I feel like at 6pm then just go do it. I think a lot of that stuff is just sugar anyway.
