1/26: 177.8lb morning weight. A slight increase; calories need to stay high and when in doubt I need to underestimate while I'm on the road so that I eat more.

1/26 (Boston)
Legs in PM
Back Squat:
235 x 10, 9, 9; + 5lbs; fighting the forward lean was harddd
185x20; increase to 190; hips were thrashed after this

Added weigt to leg press, leg extension, Lying Leg Curl
Hit rep goal on SLDL
Added reps to Seated Calf Raise

Haven't posted in here for a while, but have been keeping track. Everything is looking good!

I saw that you said you've been on the program for 3-4 months, good progress, especially considering your travelling! I just looked back to December and saw a 365 deadlift and sets of 3 with 175 on bench compared to 385 for reps and 205 on bench. Keep smashing those weights.

Much appreciated brother - it's been a challenge for me to ensure I'm eating enough calories to spur muscle growth given my high activity, but Steve designed a hell of a program for me.

I *may* switch to more of an upper lower as work/travel picks up even more because right now I try to schedule my squat workout at sea level in boston, but I think hitting everything 2x week plus 1-2 f-aroud days might be good.

The Drop 5 Method looks very no-non sense for the main lifts, which I kinda like. Although my numbers are by no means spectacular, but wave periodization is always refreshing for me mentally, or at least it was when I ran 5/3/1

Yeah, that's always a problem I have. Eating 3000-4000 calories has always been a chore for me.

Definitely worth a shot. I commend you for being able to balance travelling and lifting this well.

I don't think I've heard of the drop 5 method. Wave periodization is a breath of fresh air. Have you ever thought of the cube method?

I mean I usually weigh/track my food pretty closely when I'm at home and the bit of city walking I do plus lifting now has me at 3750+ per day

http://www.muscleandstrength.com/wor...-4-day-workout

Yeah, I have heard of the cube method. After much discussion with Steve, progressing in the hypertrophy range is my primarily goal at this point.

It's my understanding the Cube Method is geared towards progressing in the lower rep range(s)?

I seem to be responding well to high volume and frequency in terms of mirror appearance. The drop 5 system reminds me of a faster paced 5/3/1 that doesn't play around and pushes you every set on the main exercise.

Geeze, I'm sitting around 196 and I think I get ~3000 a day in.

Was going to write up what I did and some of the cube, but basically it's 3 weeks waves for every lift. Explosion, rep, heavy. Basically the program is train the main lift like a powerlifter and accessories like a bodybuilder.

Ah, I have taken a look before and found it pretty interesting. Would be cool to see how you'd progress on it with your body's reaction to volume.
