Yes i have thought about it but i like to do things as naturally as i can, i suppose eventually ill have to give in as i get further into my program and higher weights.

Also i need to start using the alternate grip, ill have a light deadlift day at the weekend to practice it.

I never heard of the versa grips just had a look they look less hassle than straps!

Versa's are much easier. At some point your back strength will always surpass your grip strength. Just something to keep in mind.

Keep killing it!

Ill probably order some and keep them in my gym bag just in case.

I'm happy in the 5/3/1 program can see the potential strength gains already, its my 3rd week this coming Monday then deload week.

I'm thinking of skipping the 1st deload week as i'm feeling great and my weights are not too high, any thoughts?

I would skip the deload. I don't like deloading when I feel great.

In the new book Wendler recommends running 2 cycles before a deload. I personally have run 8 cycles with no deload.

Sat 7/9/13

Not a 5/3/1 day but did some chest and had a frustrating workout, more at the end.

Dubbell Bench

10 x 15k
10 x 17.5k
10 x 20k
10x 25k

Bench Press

60k x 5
80k x 3
90k x 3
100k x 3
110k x 3

Decline Bench

50k x 5
60k x 5
70k x 5

Incline Bench

70k x 3
80k x 3
90k x 3

Calbe Flys 3 sets of 12 with 32k

Got a little frustrated today with the benches in the gym, they have 2 pins to rest the bars on, the bottom one is too low inches from my face! and the top one, which i use, is right on my reach limit!

My last flat bench of 110k i really struggled to get it off the pins its a real strain right on the limits of my reach.

As i progress with my 5/3/1 in months to come my spreadsheet has me going for weights of 135k in 4 months time, this worries me as ill have to find a way around this.

I train on my own as i have job that requires staying till the job is finished so spotting is a no go

I know your frustration. I run into the same thing at nearly every commercial gym.

Looking into a few more hardcore gyms, the gym i use at the moment is a commercial gym but its only £9.99 p/m and half a mile from my house!

Going to look at another gym this week its going to be a 10 min car journey and a bit more cash but could be worth it.
