Default Is it too late?

Most people say im a pessimist, but I've always considered myself a realist. With that said I was wondering you guys and gals opinion as to whether your late twenties is too late to make a serious effort in bodybuilding and make decent gains. I'll be 29 is a few months, and I've worked out to varying degrees since high school but never made any real progress is weight gain or strength. From what I've observed, most individuals who have impressive physiques are typically athletic, and seemed to develop mostly during their late teens and early twenties. At nearly 29 and not even 130lbs, and no natural athleticism, am I past the prime years to make this indeavor worthwhile?

Don't know about bodybuilding, but you're no where near your prime for Powerlifting.

What they said, 29 is hardly past your prime mate. I'm 33 and this year alone I have packed on more muscle than I ever have in my life because I have followed or tried to follow the basic rules that are well documented around here concerning muscle growth and strength.

Simple workout and training templates
Basic compound movements
Training consistency
Heavy arse weights
Adding Heavy arse weights to your allready heavy arse weights
When you can't add weight, add reps. 1 or 2 reps per set is easy muscle.
Milk & lots of it (do not overlook this anabolic super food)

Thats my training in a nutshell, Carry on.

38 years old and added 10 lbs of muscle this year.
Also setting PRs in lifts that I struggled with 10 years ago.

The iron is there during my times of happiness, sadness and anger. The iron is there available through the 4 seasons and inclement weather. The iron is there to either comfort me or motivate me. The Iron manages to show me how strong I am or how humble I need to be. The iron does not yell, but it always demands respect. The iron is not a disciplinarian, but when disrespected, I feel it for a long time. The iron does not love or hate, but we definitely share a strong bond. And no matter how far I stay away or for how long, the iron is there, waiting to be lifted.

Phooey don't have any self doubt. Just get started and stay consistent. I have had tons of set backs and it always comes back. Just get started. Stay here and everyone will help you reach your goals. Sometimes older=wiser think of it that way.
