Default Suffered a major setback

Over the last week an half i have been suffering from colitis and salmonella. I dropped 24 lbs in 3 days, and 29 as of today. I was unable to eat for 4 days. Of those lbs most of it was water and muscle. Its been very discouraging, i don't even want to know where my strength levels are. I have started to recover its coming on week 2 that i haven't ate properly or trained. I hope by midweek to be at some normal level because the itch to lift is killing me.

Hang in there 77. Sorry to hear about your illness! I hope you recover quickly. And like Steve said, typically it comes back fast, so all is not lost. Once you get healthy, you'll get rolling again and be smashing PRs in no time.

Happened to me with mono last August. Around this same time actually. My best advice is to not be discouraged too much by it. Chances are, your strength will be down quite a bit for a week or two, but if you can push through that, you'll be back to normal very quickly. It sucks going into the gym after a setback like that, but trust me, look at moving forward, and not where you were. If you can do that, you'll recover very well, very quickly.

You will bounce back, and quickly. The metal battle is the hardest part!
