Monday 9.12.2013 - Back Blast

Wide Grip Pull-up - first time doing this, added a little momentum with legs
BW x 9, 5, 4, 2 + partials, 2 + partials

Heavy Cheat Row
150 kg x 15, 12, 10, 9, 8
Jesus Christ... exhausting!

T-Bar Row
80 kg x 10, 11
60 kg x 14, 14, 15

Didn't like this exercise. Maybe I should do something controlled with a big squeeze. Like a machine or something.

DB Row
40 kg x 11, 10, 11, 14, 15

I'm a little bit ill with the flu. There's little that would make me skip workouts though. I just hope it won't get worse from this.

I thought splits were supposed to be easier than full body workouts. This was exhausting! A short workout again, but intense. I couldn't think of any more exercises to do so I called it a day.

It's weird how it looks like I'm gaining muscle when in reality it's just that the fat is melting off from around them. I love cutting.

Short but sweet. Glad to see it's going well.

Not really kipping, somewhere in between I've been doing the rows since March but this was my first time ever doing pull-ups so it's no wonder I'm not as strong with them yet. It's weird how much difference it makes whether you're pulling upwards or downwards.

I can't wait for leg day. That's gonna be death day.

I find wide-grip the hardest, out of the standard pullup variants. So, very good going there! Even with a bit of a kickstart or whatever.

Tuesday 10.12.2013 - Chest Carnage

Bench Press
90 kg x 4
80 kg x 7
75 kg x 8
70 kg x 7
65 kg x 8

DB Incline Bench
30 kg x 3
20 kg x 12
20 kg x 10
20 kg x 10
20 kg x 9

Chest Dip
BW x 8
BW x 10
BW x 8
BW x 7
BW x 6

DB Flyes
10 kg x 12
10 kg x 9
10 kg x 9
10 kg x 11
10 kg x 10

It feels like I'm training totally different muscle fibers now that I'm going for the pump - as you can see from the bench press, after the top set my fast twitch cells die off pretty quickly. I think that as I get better at this style of training my muscles will grow because they will adapt to doing more work at a higher capacity.

I'm finally starting to feel a bit better. Yesterday I felt horrible and resorted to eating a really yummy/yucky greasy toast to get my energy levels up. I think I've been eating too little fat during this diet, only like 30g per day honestly. It must have affected my immune system since I'm usually never sick. Time to add back the healthy fats (nuts, olive oil, cod liver oil, eggs). I think I'm gonna cut out the pasta from my post-workout meal to compensate.
