Don Reinhoudt holds the all-time raw record of 2391. What would it mean to you personally to become the greatest raw lifter in the history of the sport?

It would mean a lot. Iíve dedicated a large part of my life the last 3 years to getting my numbers where they need to be, so doing something like that would be the ultimate payoff. Regardless if I break the record or not I still would give Don Reinhoudt plenty of credit for doing it in an era where they had very limited supportive gear. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the old school raw lifters.

Let's say he hits 2400+ at this meet raw....

i can see all the multiply guys screaming that westside is the bestside, conjugate is the best for raw lifters, etc. however, in his interview, he met louie his first meet when he put up 2200+, and then goes on to mention that it's easier to lift heavier weights with the right equipment.

either way, good luck to him and I hope there will be video of it, because that would be damn impressive.

It was easier for me to squat and deadlift with the right equipment. Not sure what you mean. Maybe you could explain in a little more detail.

After training years with a buffalo bar and a non-deadlift bar, it was a pleasure to use a deadlift bar and real squat bar.

He said that when he went to his first meet he surprised himself at how easy it was to lift with good equipment, and felt like he left a bit on the platform. He did not mention how much.

After that point, upon joining Westside, his squat went up 70 pounds in a very short period of time. This certainly was not all squat bar related.

Crazy that there are guys lurking in their basements with this type of power...spoto comes to mind. He said bench was his worst lift before an injury stopped him from squatting and pulling

Awesome interview and a great guy. Interested to see how he makes the transition into gear.
