Thursday
Got to the gym late (7:15) with the missus. Kids in the gym's play room which closes at 8:00 so I had to compress this workout into that time frame. I normally take 1.5m rest between sets but today I had to cut that down greatly. It was fun because it presented new challenges but it sucks in that these numbers really don't mean much since they can't be compared to my usual 1.5m resting workouts.

Barbell shoulder press:
135x10
135x6
135x5
135x4
Toatal Reps: 25
Rep Goal: 30

Close grip bench press:
175x8
175x6
175x5
175x4
Total Reps: 23
Rep Goal: 30

Barbell Row:
165x12
165x9
165x8
Total Reps: 29
Rep Goal: 30

Cable Tricep Extensions:
100x14
100x10
100x8
100x6
Total reps: 38
Rep Goal: 35-40

Lat Pulldown:
170x12
170x7
170x6
Total Reps: 25
rep goal: 30
Should have bumped it up to 180 this week but due to the time crunch I just stuck with 170.

Hammer Curls:
50x11
50x10
50x10
Total reps: 31
rep goal: 30

Apparently my biceps know no bounds.

After a brutal day in the gym (couldn't do shit) I went to see a doctor about my back. Told me it was likely a strained muscle and prescribed me some drugs. Guess I can't deadlift or squat for a while. I hope this clears up quick so I can get back at it.
I guess when I get back to it I'll stay super light and put some videos up for form critique.
So pissed...

Take care of that back. Everybody does it every once in a while. Nature of the beast. Eat and rest up. Probably come back stronger.

Nice progress so far. Awesome work with those shorter rests. That will pay off too.

So I am starting to get back into it. Back is feeling much much better. I'll continue to go hard on my upper body workouts but take it easy on my lower body workouts at least until I'm 100% confident my form is perfect. I'll get some new vids of my form and throw them into the form critique thread.

Until then, I'll post my logs from this past weekend.

Being the impatient idiot that I am I thought to myself, "I'm going to do lower body today and go real light just in case I'm not fully recovered." Smart idea. Too bad I'm addicted to lifting heavy and felt the need to bump up the weight on my deads to 315. Hurt my back all over again and am back to square one.
