So you will note that yes for the power lifts I have upped to 6 sets now a little more volume and it felt GREAT! "why the extra volume?" honestly I had always planned to go up to 8 eventually but I want to do it in phases, the weights are at a point where the extra day of training will help "keep the ramp at a good angle" so to speak. Felt really good.

alright so.. 300lbs 6 sets of 2... this felt amazing - achievement for me for sure (i have pulled more in a single before but this.. this was a feat of strength for me, especially the reps of 240 afterward...). Now note: I have lowered the weight for my overhead press as its been giving me trouble and im going STRICT STRICT STRICT now. I take a deep break, push up - breathe, lower it to my chest and pause and reallign my back and push. Im using the extra set to keep the ramp at a good angle, and dialed back the weight to progress easily again, Felt really good, felt strong and not wobbly.

Weirdest thing I have noticed - I have been too beat after to worry about barbell curls or bent over rows which I put in cause I was worried they wouldnt get worked.... well... my biceps actually feel super strong and my back feels amazing. Not sure how the biceps are getting worked... but whatevers going on I like it.

So! since we're almost at christmas, I thought hey!? For the last few days leading up to christmas lets hit some PR's. I wont be able to make it to the gym sat and sun for church stuff so today I did squats and man! SO MUCH FUN

Overall i was in there for about an hour with warming up and stretching between the sets etc. I had a lot of fun hit 240... not sure if I would have got red lighted or not for a bit of swing in my hips but im gunna count it because its a gym PR. One day ill get to my first meet and see what happens so.. current total

(Gym PR) - Squat - 240
Gym Working weight - Bench - 185
Gym working weight - Deadlift - 300

Total = 725

Monday I will do my bench PR and tuesday DL PR (hoping for a 350 Christmas lift)

Today did a mock pushpull to get my PR for bench and deadlift!

Bench:
135 2 sets of 5
185 single
205 single
135 12 reps

I could have done more... But there was no one there to spot me and I didnt want to die. Im happy, when I left the house I wanted 200 for bench so 205 is great. Bench is my weakest lift for sure so

Deadlift

135 3 sets of 3
225 3 singles
315 single
350 single
355 miss
225 3 singles
135 5 reps

My goal for this Christmas was to hit a 350lbs DL. After I tried a 355 and missed so, i maxed out and hit my goal. With my other lifts (Bench and Squat) I have the following

205 Bench
240 Squat
350 Deadlift

Total: 795


Big thanks to BendtheBar and the entire MaB group! I appreciate all your help. Big thanks to Hepburn and his method for overload as it is working great for me! (currently doing 6 reps out of the 8 his method calls for but we'll get there )

Just a big thanks to everyone - Next Year 1000lbs total and hopefully find a amateur meet to step on the platform for the first time. Regardless - Switching to a more power-lifting style has changed the way I not only train but feel overall.

Thanks man! Yeah. I mean looking back at the vid, it comes up smooth. Maybe if I gave myself a bit more of a rest I could have pulled more. Part of me also was just saying "all I wanted for Christmas was 350" so maybe this is also a lesson to never mentally hinder yourself for a lift.

Hey MaB.. Havnt ditched or left or anything ; post the big christmas lift, i wanted to take a few days off, then I got sick for a week, then i came back and felt super weak and the past few weeks I have been trying to get back into it... not sure whats going on but I just dont "feel it" anymore, questioning my form a ton and just feel like an idiot in the gym... still plugging away. will get back to logging soon.
