Enough to avoid dehydration, slake thirst, and maintain a healthy internal balance of salt:water.

It varies a fair bit from day to day. The only time I drink an appreciable amount of water is at the gym - I always take a bottle for that.

I drink a lot of fluid, but clear glasses of water are minimal, To be honest I was strict on myself for a while about it and I felt great. I should get back into it. I can say probably ~1-1.5 liters a day.. for mixing with bcaas and such. but again just a boring ol glass of H20.. not very often.

I honestly drink at least 2 gallons a day. Mostly mineral water. I'm thirsty all the time and I like to keep a 1.5 liter bottle on hand all the time so I can guzzle from it If I drink less, I start to feel lethargic.

Inb4 someone says I have diabeetus, my blood sugar values have always been excellent. I like to drink, is that such a crime?

No option on the poll for 'I drink when thirsty'.

Hydration is one of those health myths that refuses to lay down and die. The eight glasses of water a day 'rule' is arrant nonsense. Unless you have some sort of medical condition, it's pointless to have some sort of target amount of water to drink. That's what homeostasis is for.

We do this one regularly on MAB, but once again, just for the record: unless you're working construction in Texas, or crossing the Atacama, you don't need to second-guess your water requirements. Millions of years of mammalian evolution has programmed you to drink exactly when you need to. You're not going to flake out in a typical working day if you don't top yourself up every 15 minutes.

In other news, evidence is emerging that the world is an oblate sphere.
