Monday October 14

Have been having a crap last week outside of the gym and really let the anger out today. I got to the gym later than normal, about noon and when I got there, bros and idiots everywhere.

I got into the room I lift in and there were these two kids in there that were benching now, when I walked in I saw someone deadlifting. I went in the room and asked if they were done (being nice) with deadlifts, they were benching (resting) and they both looked at me and kind of laughed and said uh no.

I went and change (had street clothes on) and came back in and no deadlifts were done, they laughed when I came back in and they were benching still. I took their loaded bar and threw it across the room, went and got another bar and started deadlifting.

Needless to say I was super pissed and turned what has been feeling like heavy work into speed work.

Sumo Deads - 225x3, 275x3, 315x3, 365x3, 315x5x(5 Sets)

High box paused squats - 225x3x(3 Sets) - bar was jumping off my back

Wednesday Oct 16

Made a different setup to bench in. The rack I usually squat in I grabbed a bench from the other room that someone was resting their weights on for curls after I knocked them off and took the bench into the other room.

So now I have a good bench, power rack with stops and a good lift point to train. I have no reason to push myself twice as hard as I normally would (no spotters).

Bench - Warms: 95x8, 135x5, 155x5, 185x3, 205x3, 235x5x(3 Sets),
Bench - Working: 235x5x(3 Sets) I wouldn't call this a PR I've done a working set with this volume before but I've never done 3 sets of 5 at this weight. I'm happy with the rack set up and I'm going to get my bench over 300 easy. Hopefully even attempt 300 at the meet.

Dumbbell Incline - 85x5x(3 or 5 sets) - I didn't take my book out there to make hash marks to count, I don't remember if I did 3 or 5 for sure but I'm pretty sure I'm 90% sure I did 5 sets.

Barbell Rows - Warms: 135x5, 135x5, 185x5
Barbell Rows - Working: 205x5x(5 Sets)

Lower back wasn't necessarily tweaked but pumped/tired, I wanted to do some high box squats for power I did 135x5 but it wasn't feeling fast and was doing more harm than good so I left after that.

Most of you don't know but I got a new project car. Well.. here she is in her beauty.

1986 Ford Taurus Wagon. The odometer works but only goes to xxxxx, so I'm thinking it's 126k miles since it's sat for 3+ years.

Good work Cutty. Feel sorry for the bros, they know not what they do.

Yeah I shouldn't have asked and just took it over. They wouldn't have done anything anyways.

So I'm working slowly but surely on the car. Did a tune up at work today, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, pcv valve and grommet, fixed some vaccum leaks, air filter. I'm running some oil treatment in to clean up sludge, I'll take off valve cover this weekend and clean the sludge and change the oil.. it's been sitting 3+ years and I'm trying to get everything going.

Tired are dryrotted bad and I need rack and pinion but it's getting there. Once I take care of those I'll be ready to slowly fix stuff.

Here's the push button starter I installed I need to mount still.

Friday October 8th

Squats - 135x5x(2 sets), 185x3x(2 sets), 225x3, 275x3, 315x5, 275x5
I screwed up and didn't write my sets down so I ended up doing my work sets at triples and ended up not doing exactly what I wanted to. The 315x5 was a little ugly, I haven't done volume in a while especially at that high. I told myself I'm not going to stop until I pass out or die.. so get the 5 reps at depth or die.. Rep 1 was slow, 2 was ugly, 3 was uglier.. composed myself, 4 was slow, 5 slow and I thought I might black out.

Feels really good to do something like that, pushing yourself beyond what you even can imagine you can do.

Rear Delt Dumbbell - 15x12x(3 Sets) - Really powering with rear delts and then a squeeze with traps at the end. Love them.

Leg Extensions - 150x12x3 - I think this is why my knee hurt so bad last week.. I think I'm going to stop doing those.. that's why I stopped them before.

Straight Leg DL - 135x12x(3 Sets) - need to work on flexibility, really scarred up my shins with these and worked lats to keep it close to body. Boy I'm glad I switched to sumo DL.

Goblet Squats - 75x8x(3 Sets) I love these, I'm going to use them for quads, core, cardio. Really get deep and use the bounce reflex, tight core, it's the real deal.

Overall I'm upping the intensity, not quibbling over small form flaws and calling the whole attempt.. I'm working through my weaknesses that are really starting to show. I've been listening to my body, eating as much as I possibly can and lost 3 pounds this week somehow so I think I'm on the right direction.

November 16/17th is my meet so starting next week I go to triples. Going to go heavy triples and start fading out accessory work.. lets see how it goes!

No turning back now. Been working on car a lot lately to get it running. There's a benefit car show on the 26th for Autism that I'm trying to get the wagon ready for.
