Good work Kat, the shoes will definitely help with your stability and hopefully help get your mind right to just get under the bar!

Once you do it a couple times you'll thank yourself for doing it because it makes the snatch much easier

35lbs x 1, 35 lbs x 1, 55 lbs x 1, 55 lbs x 1, 65 lbs x 1, 65lbs x 1 AND HERE is where I start muscling the bar up, because my stupid brain keeps getting in the way...75 lbs x 1, 75lbs x 1, 80 lbs x 0(fail) 80 lbs x 1, 80lbs x 1...grr.

I'm still muscling these up 100%, receiving the bar at full straight standing, then doing an OHS at the end to remind myself that I can do it. Hoping that one of these days I can shut my mind off and actually get under the bar as it's going up so I can move some real weight. My fails are easily coming up over my head, so I just have to get under the gosh darn it to heck bar.

METCON (aka: hell on earth...srs): today really killed me. Not sure if it's because of the air quality alert we are under or if it's the wine I drank last night (lol, I'm on staycation it's okay).
30-20-10 reps
14lb wallball + 35lb kb swings
THEN: 1000M row
for frickin' time. 11:58. I sucked but ballers have no concept of time, I say

I'm way under calories for today and I'm too lazy to cook. Not gonna help me reach my goals...but I can even out tomorrow. I have some grass fed short ribs that I'm going to slow cook and eat ALL OF THE THINGS tomorrow!!!
Looking good Kat!

Thanks! Entertaining read...heh! Sometimes it will probably be a trainwreck

Nutrition has been a top priority for me this year. Whole foods and lots of them. I'm working on the sleep thing. My body needs about 9 hours. Right now, I'm managing 7-8, with consistently hitting 8 hours my goal.

I've just got to break down whatever mental tick makes me want to stand up lol. I am SURE that once I manage to get the catch in a squat a few times, I'll be able to make it a new habit!

I'm starting to feel like you with all the equipment I have to take to the gym...lolol! I did a couple of overhead squats while we were working on snatches and felt WAY SOLID in them. I had been bailing forward at 65lbs and I was good at 80lbs for a couple of full reps

All the way down on page 3 You're a busy man Ben! Thanks for swinging by!

Yesterday I spent the time I should have been at the gym getting my finger dermabonded. I stabbed myself while making lunch Sad that I missed out on a straight jerk session (from the rack, so no bs having to clean the bar first). Ohs wells. I'll be working on squat cleans today. Definitely won't be using the hook grip though - eek!

Warmup: dynamic stretching & 400M run (yucky! I don't think I will ever enjoy running )

Squat Clean: 6x1
65lbs x 1, 85lbs x 1, 105 lbs x 1, 115 lbs x 1, 115 lbs x 1 (boom, matched my previous pr twice), 125 lbs x 0...twice. The bar was high enough, I just didn't get under it aggressively enough. BUT I did make progress on receiving the bar in the squat on every rep. Only a matter of time and timing.

MetCon: 8 minutes AMRAP of front squat (95lbs for me) + box jumps (20")
Rep scheme: 3+3, 6+6, 9+9 and so on and so forth in multiples of 3.
I got through the 12 reppers and got 9 front squats in on the 15. This was pretty darn heavy for me but I'm glad I didn't go with 85lbs like I was thinking I would. Definitely got some good work in.

Tomorrow is my fav, OLY CLASS - yay! Tonight I feast! GF tenderloin steak & zucchini on the grill and sweet potato "fries". Yumtastic!

At some point in time this weekend I plan on max testing my bench. I figure since I did all the others this week, I should do bench also.
