I descended down and I put on the breaks nice and deep in the hole and nothing happened, I kept going down. Bad day in the gym. I have been training heavyish I guess for a fear while now. My last squat session was at 155kg do yous think the 7.6 kg jump was too much for 5x5, or should I have taken a deload at some point because I can't remember when I took one before. I'm really gutted ay, do yous think this will be a major set back ? I want a 500 pound squat and its currently 405.

Cheers Nath.
Way too big of a jump. At that level I started to creep up.

Not a major set back, but I do think you need to start looking ta other training options. It's hard to ride a straight 5x5 and continue to get gains when you are squatting mid-300s.

17/6/13

Today was a big day, I made the change under the suggestion on BTB to move onto the "Huge Gainer Intermediate four day split".

Back Squat
Bar 2x10
60kg 1x10
100kg 2x5
140kg 8/8/5=21, rep goal 3x20

Romain Deads , I'm new to these so I went ezy.
60kg 2x10
100kg 10/10=20, rep goal 2x15

Front Squats, I haven't done these in a long time as well
60kg 2x10
100kg 8/8/5=21, rep goal 3x20

Leg Curls, Rubber band version
12/12/12/15=heaps, rep goal 4x40, I could barely stand at this point.

AB wheel rollouts
3x10

Calf Raise, Didnt happen.

Cheers, Nath.

Thanks mate, Yeah I would rather do front squats than live with the dishonor of using a leg press.

Haha, leg curls eh? Yeah, they're "interesting" when you're getting used to them.

Good stuff though: all rep goals met = win!
