Default 9th Dec 2009 (Workout A - Day 2)

Workout and progression on track, as they should be, with sub-maximal lifts.

Cleans
45 x 10
95 x 6
120 x 3
140 x 3
140 x 3
150 x 1
120 x 7

Military Press
45 x 10
70 x 5
100 x 5
120 x 5
120 x 5
130 x 2
100 x 11

Squat
135 x 8
190 x 5
210 x 5
235 x 5
235 x 5
255 x 2
210 x 11

Again, skipped the assistance exercises, lunched out, so ....
Glad I am in India right now with nice weather in 60s. Heard from my friends in Ames that there's a snow storm blowing with already a foot deep snow, with more to come, and the temperature around -5 to -10F. The university had to close for a day for the first time in 3 years due to bad weather.

Ummm... as a footnote, I should add that as I go closer and closer to my max for the squat, I feel it more and more in the hams (although the quads get a nice workout too).

Nice efforts KP. I rarely ever feel soreness from squats in the quads. It's all hammies.

thanks. I agree with you, the back squats are pretty good for the hammies. Which is why I am also doing the front squats on alternate lifting days.

Default 14th Dec 2009 (Workout A, Day - 3)

Was a bit hard pressed today.

Cleans
45 x 10
100 x 6
125 x 3
145 x 3
145 x 3
155 x 1
125 x 8

Military Press
45 x 10
70 x 5
105 x 5
125 x 5
125 x 5
135 x 2
105 x 9

Squats
135 x 7
195 x 5
220 x 5
245 x 5
245 x 5
265 x 2
220 x 8

Banged my face against the corner of a table and broke my tooth. Few pieces of the root stayed inside the gum. The dentist had to cut it open and remove them and then stitch it up. Not a big deal, but it meant i had been consuming only liquid food for the entire day, so, overall, it was a very low calorie day to attempt my "starting maxes", which is why the lifts felt a bit hard. I am allowed to eat solids starting tonight.
