Workout A...Thursday, March, 21st

Powertec Machine Squats (+5lbs)
Warm Up- 90x10
255x6, 255x6, 255x6

I was able to add 5lbs and I could again really feel in it my quads. What I love about this machine is how I can focus on a certain muscle in my body and really feel it. My quads were shaking a little afterwards.

Flat Dumbbell Bench Press
Warm Up (Powetec Machine Flat Bench)- 90x10, 180x5
62.5x6, 62.5x6, 62.5x6

I decided to try dumbbell bench and I got to say it felt amazing. What is strange is that the last time I flat dumbbell benched I did less than I am doing now. Despite not doing dumbbell bench it went up. I really think the dips work well for me and are why my bench went up. Of course it could be from other reasons as well. These long dumbbell handles that I use are really awkward and very hard to balance. If I was using smaller dumbbells I no doubt could be able to do more weight. I was pushing no problem it was the balancing that is the problem simply because they are too long (honestly doesn't have to do with my "stabilizers" they get plenty of work even outside of the gym). Again I'm not sure what I'm going to be doing here. Either dips or dumbbell bench.

One Arm Dumbbell Rows (strict) (+2.5lbs, +1rep)
65x8/8, 67.5x8/9

I made a mistake while putting the weights on the first set and didn't realize it was the same weight used last workout. I then added 2.5lbs and did it no problem. I felt like doing another set but I decided not to. I felt very strong today, specially on this lift. As you can see I did an extra rep on my left side, I just wanted to keep pulling.

E-Z Barbell Upright Rows (+30lbs)
85x8, 85x8

I really added the weight on here since I was mainly trying to get the form and movement down last workout. I felt comfortable enough to add 30lbs and it felt very good. I decided to keep this for the time being and just keep progressing on them. I don't like changing movements specially when I just started a program.

Triceps Pushdowns (strict) (+5lbs, +4reps)
75x10, 75x10

I really felt strong on these today and added weight and an extra two reps on each set. Not much to say except they hit my triceps well.

Overall:

Again another stronger workout. I progressed on everything and I'm very happy with how this is going so far. Now I'm going to rest and watch some more of this NCAA tournament, one of my favorite times of the year.

Thanks to everyone following!

Workout B...Sunday, March, 24th

Deadlifts (+10lbs)
Warm Up= 135x5, 225x3
295x3, 295x3, 295x3

These felt very heavy today. I worked out in the morning with no food in my system. They made had a little bit to do with it but I was able to get all sets and reps with this. I took some longer breaks today though.

Powertec Machine Shoulder Press (+2.5lbs)
190x6, 190x6, 190x6

These felt very good today. I probably could have pumped out a few more reps but again it was good enough today. Happy with this.

Barbell Rows (+5lbs)
155x7, 155x9

The first set on these I didn't hit my 8 reps and I think the big reason was because my grip was a bit off when I picked up the weight. The last set I felt I made up for it by getting 9 reps. These also felt pretty good today.

Powertec Machine Incline Bench Press (2.5lbs)
245x8, 245x8

These really hit my chest hard today. On the last set the 8th rep was again to absolute failure and was really tough to get. I'm very surprised I was even able to get 8 reps on the last set to be honest. I'm expecting I won't be getting 8 reps on 247.5 for 2 sets next workout but I'm definitely going to be trying.

E-Z Barbell Curls (+2.5lbs, +4reps)
72.5x10, 72.5x10

Again I felt very strong on these today. I was able to go up in weight and add 2 reps to each set. I got a very good pump in my biceps and it felt damn good with pretty strict form.

Overall:

Great workout, pretty happy about it. One thing to note is I jammed my middle finger on my right had playing flag football yesterday and it is purple. Just the very tip is purple though and I was able to manage to lift really without pain. Hopefully my finger gets better though. Have a good day.

Thanks!
