Thanks!

I started trying myo-reps out on upper back to see if I could make progress on such low volume. Now I like it so much I'm trying it with other body parts.

Strong pulls and leg press. I'm sure you'll feel back up to snuff in no time.

Nice work Tann. Take care of them knees! Maybe stop off in the pub at the bottom of those Bavarian hills, then meet up with the wife when she comes back down?

You Europeans ever work, or do you just holiday all year round?

That's fighting talk!

Well, remember I'm a teacher and one of the few remaining perks of the job is the long holidays.

But in general, I think we could all learn a lot of life lessons from the French, who have a much saner attitude to...well, everything, actually, but work/life balance in particular.

Sunday

Had a late night last night as we drove down to Cardiff for an opera. Also didn't eat much at all. Consequently, today's session was hard going. This was my second session trying bench press after a l-o-n-g absence and I felt a bit more in the groove, if not much stronger.

Bench press - some paused

Warm ups
100 (221) X 6
120 (265) X 4
120 (265) X 4
120 (265) X 4
120 (265) X 4
100 (221) X 9

Neutral grip chins - myo-reps

Bodyweight X 11 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2

Horizontal wide-grip pull ups, feet elevated - myo-reps

Bodyweight X 10 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3

Standing DB press

36s (80s) X 6
38s (84s) X 4
40s (88s) X 3
32s (70s) X 10

Seated DB curls - myoreps

22s (46s) X 6 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2

Monday

Test-drove my knee today on some squats. In a fit of genius, I put leg press before squats. This seemed to work really well, as it (a) limits how much weight I need on squats (although this isn't very much anyway until I get into the groove) (b) warms my knee up nicely.

Anyway, even with rock bottom squats, the knee was fine today. Cool beans.

Leg Press

Warm ups
260 (573) X 15
290 (641) X 12
310 (682) X 12
310 (682) X 12

Squats - beltless

100 (220) X 5
120 (265) X 5
130 (286) X 5

Triceps exercises

Various - experimenting to see what my elbow could cope with.
