That's exactly I want to convey ... missed a word in between ... What I want to say is that when you are already doing 150+ @RAW. Is it any useful to do with same / lesser wt. in gear ... I mean that would be quite easy isn't it. Only if you want to rep it out ... but that's only my thinking ... you must be having a reason to do so ... Interested in knowing that ...

Sorry man I'm still not sure what you mean. Did you miss the bands on there? They add 40kgs. There's no way I could rep 190kgs (150 bar +40kgs bands) for 3 off a 2board raw

Deathlifts

Light stretch

Sumo pulls all reps done hook grip
70kgs x 5, 5
110kgs x 3, 3
140kgs x 1
Add briefs and belt
140kgs x 1
140kgs for 6 singles with 30seconds rest
Add reverse average band taking around 30kgs at the bottom
160kgs x 1
180kgs x 1
195kgs x 1
205kgs x 1
210kgs x 1 Possibly the tidiest rep of the day as well

Barbell rows
85kgs x 10
100kgs x 10, 10
120kgs x 5
140kgs x 5

Standing Dumbell OHP
22kgs x 10
26kgs x 10
30kgs x 10
32kgs x 10

High row
40kgs per side x 10, 10, 10

Woke up this morning and watched the bench and deadlift flights from CAPO. This left me massively pumped to go on and hit a 2 hour deadlift fest. Tried pulling in briefs today and I think it was easier than using the suit. Either that or my form is improving. Hoping for a bit of both Did speed pulls on short rest again and I liked the challenge. Used reverse bands rather than block or rack pulls as I want to keep my form consistent right now and they allow full ROM and overload so it was a solid choice. The 210 was hard but never in doubt. Pleased with how the hook grip held out as well; slipped a little on 205 but 210 was solid. Did some strict rows and then some heavier ones with a little more body english to assist. Made a nice change after 2 weeks of the stricter Pendlays rows. Overall I'm pleased with today. I hit so me heavier weights and didn't completely break my form: goal achieved.

Thanks Swedish. Hook is coming along nicely now. Thumbs only feel numb for an hour or so after now rather than a day

Good to see your strength improving on some of those big movements. That will never be a bad thing, and can only help.

So what is the advantage to pulling hook grip vs mixed? It must be good to go thru all the hardship with the thumbs.

Solid pull and form is definitely moving in the right direction Al!

I find it easier to keep the bar close into my body with hook grip and it also stops the bar from wheeling around on me which it does with a mixed grip when I pull sumo.

Thanks mate. Will be interesting to see how the hook holds up as I get stronger on deadlift again.
