I think it would be hard to find a major fault in your form nowadays Big Al, they really look good, and of course speedy. I didn't see you throw down the bar in disgust, so I am sure you knew right after-wards they were good ones.

If you watch rep 2 on the second set I don't pull my head back and my chest drops out over the bar. That's what I need to watch out for right now. Overall I'm happy with the progress though. Lots of work at lighter weights (I haven't pulled over 185kgs more than three times since June) has helped me nail the technique and the hook grip. Hopefully both hold up as I ramp up now towards the meet. In three weeks I will be doubling 202.5 and then onwards to singles. I'm excited to see how it goes.

Here's a comparison. First one is from 2008 when I was dieting down for the wedding. I was around 93kgs. The bottom is last week and I'm around 98kgs. Maybe Steve could put them side-by-side...

Bar x lots twice
60kgs x 5, 5
100kgs x 3, 3
130kgs x 1
Add belt
150kgs x 1
Add briefs
180kgs x 3
Add suit bottom
200kgs x 2
Add wraps
225kgs x 3 Comfortable
Straps up
240kgs x 1 Very easy

Single leg light band curls
3 sets of 20

Supersetted with

Leg press
230kgs x 20, 20, 20

Good session tonight. Put briefs on earlier tonight as hip has been getting a bit stiff from the raw work; wanted to give it a break. Gear felt awkward at lighter weights but the two top sets felt really good. Depth was decent (especially considering the gear felt tighter with my extra bodyweight and weights were light) and bar moved very quickly so that was good. Assistance was high rep and that almost made me puke despite it taking less than 10 minutes. Overall: very pleased.

Oh and a quick tip for any aspiring gear whores: take a pi$$ before putting on your tight briefs and suit!!!

800kgs or die trying.
