Making yourself sick on a bodybuilding session is easy. I've done it a few times in the past: low rests and lots of reps. Doing it with powerlifting sets and loads of rest really surprised me.

Haha got to get use to the pain. Eventually you will be able to take 1 plate down in your briefs. Blacking out is part of geard lifting.

Add belt
120kgs x 5
Add briefs
150kgs x 5 half squats 180kgs x 5 better but not depth
200kgs x 5 there or thereabouts
Add loose wrap
215kgs x 4 Hit depth on maybe 1 rep.

First rep was OK, second I saw spots, third I was seeing more spots, fourth I was blacking out. This is due to the gear but also because I am losing upper back tightness. As I lean forward, I black out a little.

Reps in briefs and belt
160kgs x 8, 8 Was due one more set but was feeling so sick I had to take the briefs off

Was destroyed at this point but JB had ordered more squats!

Raw paused squats
No belt
80kgs x 5, 5, 5
Went lighter on weight and made sure I held a solid 3 count pause

www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qBKLyOBafQ

JB warned me this would be hard. I miscalculated just how hard reps in gear are! Top set should have been 5 reps with 3 in the tank. I could have done those reps but the gear and losing my upper back arch had me almost passing out. No bueno.

This session was the closest I've come to losing my food in a long time. I also have a quad pump. This feels weird but I kind of like it

Back on Friday for bench press.
Great working big Al ... just missed a chance to record "lose your food" PR ... Doing some monstrous work ... And yes thanks for sharing the pics ... Hope it was fun ...

The briefs cut my legs to ribbons last night and I am in a fair bit of pain today. Love it, thanks!!!

JB-advised Paul Key bench cycle Week 1

Bench press
Bar x lots x 4
Add doubled mini bands 40kgs @ top
Bar x lots x 2
50kgs x 5
70kgs x 3
100kgs x 3
Add 3 board
115kgs x 3
125kgs x 3
132.5kgs x 3 PB for reps
Add shirt
Add 2 board
132.5kgs x 3
145kgs x 3 Wobbly hand-off and ugly reps
152.5kgs x 3 Much cleaner and PB for reps

Rolling dumbell extensions
15kgs for 3 sets of 12

Decent session tonight. The bands make the bar path really hard to control. Left some in the tank for sure but this early in the cycle, that's ok. Lost form a bit on the 145 so went conservative with last jump for a 2.5kgs/5lbs PB. Last set was probably smoothest of the night so left it there. Excited to see how this goes.

Solid work day.

Watch your wrists, way too much bend. Wrap a little higher, get the bar deep in the palms, and keep them vertical. It's not a problem now. As the weight goes up, it will cause you issues.
