Talking Thorney's boring log

Welcome to Thorney's log. I like to raise objects against the force of gravity. 20 years old, 5'8, currently 82kg down from 92kg. Been training for 18 months. stronglifts->madcow->1x5->531->1x5 again. made good gains on 1 set of 5 for a while, stalled, tried 531 while cutting some weight slowly, strength decreased slightly but felt beat up all the time so im back to 1x5. Since all programs start with the squat ill go back to Sunday and do the same.

Squats:
bodyweight 3x8ish
60kg 1x5
80kg 1x5
100kg 1x5
120kg 1x4
142kg 1x3
belt
165kg 1x5 with probably 2 in the tank
belt off
80kg 1x10

Hanging leg raises with toes over bar 3x8
Back raises with 10kg plate 3x10

Monday 10th Bench. Had a split shift at work so managed to get this in during the day with garage door open with scorching 11 Celsius heat.

Bench
bar 2x25
40kg 1x8
60kg 1x5
72kg 1x5
85kg 1x5
107kg 1x5
60kg paused 1x10

Chin ups
10kg plate 6x10

Weight moved fast on bench but didn't quite get my set up right which made this harder than it should have been.

Wednesday 12th Deadlifts. Had the day off work so trained in the morning so I can eat all the carbs I want.

Deadlift
Bar 1x12
60kg 2x6
100kg 1x5
140kg 2x2
160kg 2x1
Belt
182.5kg 1x5
Belt off
100kg 1x8

Shrugs
100kg 3x12

Hanging leg raises with toes over bar
10,8,8

Deadlifts were fairly slow but could have grinded 2 or 3 more reps.

Big 3 weekly total for working sets; 455kg (1003lbs). Good training week, hit all planned reps fairly easy, hopefully the gains will keep coming and the fat will keep coming off.

Rest day today, just some gentle movement and stretching.

Thanks guys, ill be sure to check out your logs so we can all shout names at each other .

Friday 14th, morning weigh in 12st12-180lbs-81.6kg, down a pound, leaning out nicely.
Press day. Just a steady low volume session.

Press
bar 2x5
40kg 1x5
50kg 1x5
62.5kg 1x5 2.5kg off a PR, next week
32.5kg 1x10

Chin ups
3x10 with a 15kg plate. felt just as easy as last weeks 10kg

Normally would call it a day there but I committed to the dip challenge.
Dips 27, thought I'd get more but reps were too slow and triceps were finished after about 20 seconds.
Now to eat animals and vegetables.

the longer you can gain on a simple program the better!

Keep up the good work. Your PL total is excellent.
