Yesterday was the 8th grade awards ceremony where they honor the outstanding students at the middle school. My boy absolutely blew it out of the water, I was almost embarrassed that he won so many of the awards. He won the Outstanding Student award in History, Citizenship, GPA, and was selected the Outstanding 8th grade Music Award from the district. He even won the award he wanted the most; The Outstanding Male Scholar given to the highest achieving student over-all. All totaled he won 8 out of the 12 academic awards, I'm a proud daddy.

The iron is there during my times of happiness, sadness and anger. The iron is there available through the 4 seasons and inclement weather. The iron is there to either comfort me or motivate me. The Iron manages to show me how strong I am or how humble I need to be. The iron does not yell, but it always demands respect. The iron is not a disciplinarian, but when disrespected, I feel it for a long time. The iron does not love or hate, but we definitely share a strong bond. And no matter how far I stay away or for how long, the iron is there, waiting to be lifted.

I've also finally introduced my son to full-body workouts. This was his first one and it whooped him pretty good. Now he's lifting like he is supposed to

Actually, it's probably the other way around.

Not to say my wife isn't smart, she is, but I teach Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra II in high school. I also score higher on aptitude tests and other such meaningless nonsense. And let's not forget that I gain strength at a snail's pace, a true Hardgainer, except for the fact that size (thickness) comes easy for me.

My wife's family on the other hand spits out oxen for children. My nephew is 6'4" and weighs over 300 lbs. He is a strongman competitor and I've seen him SPRINT with a 900 lb Yoke. That's why I suspect my son will probably be stronger than I am by the time he finishes high school. Genetics are a bitch. . . or a blessing.

Very interesting OR - your son may have the size genetic from you and the strength from Mrs side AND extra brain cells from your side. Wow - alot of potential there.

Also quite the impressive career you have. I have always admired teachers for all they do! Not an easy job by any stretch of the imagination - expecially when its a somewhat boring subject like math! haha
