My review, beyond 5/3/1 eBook.

This book is essentially a lot of training protocols. There is a ton of 5/3/1 variations and templates. So many in fact it gets kind of tedious to read. There are many challenges and programs that last several months. You could probably spend almost 3 years trying out all the variations, challenges, and phases without repeating anything. There are some new aspects and an entirely new program called beyond 531, which only resembles 531 in name. There is a new thing called joker sets which essentially means, work up to higher percentages on the days your feeling strong. There is a new warmup to working sets. There is some mobility advice and food advice, in a nutshell stretch and quit eating like a pussy. What stands out for me as the first thing to try is 531 first set last, plus joker sets. First set last was in 531 for power lifters. If you guys have any questions let me know.

Thanks for the review. I'd be interested in hearing more about the new warm-up scheme.

Thanks for the Review! I would be interested in reading the beyond 5/3/1, but I am done giving wendler anymore of my cash. At least it seems that there is some useful information contained within it's pages.

Great Press day. Keep smashing. Looks like you killed your rep goal.

Just common sense really. More lighter warmup than normal 531 warmup. Like bp for instance, bar lots then 95 then 10% training max increments up to normal 531 warmup.

I forgot to mention no more monthly deload. Cycles are now 6 weeks. Which I never deloaded anyway.

Week 1 5/3/1, first set last(multiple sets), and joker sets.

Death lifts!

Deficit deads
135x5/3 155x3 180x3

Deadlifts
180x5 225x5 270x3 295x5 340x5 385x5+
385x5

Sumo deadlifts
385x5 singles

Deadlift, 1st set last(multiple sets)
295x5/5/5

Low cable row
90x8 135x8 180x8/8

Treadmill "hill sprints"

Well, brutal day. Had to deadlift today instead of squat. Since it hasn't been a week since my last dead day weights were super heavy. Ended up only pulling only 5 on top set. I had planned on doing joker sets but I have to listen to my body, wasn't in the cards. You should slowly ease into things anyway.
Sumos pulled over under. All conventional deads pulled DOH. Straps only used for top set.

I like it. Looks awesome. I will have to get the book when I'm ready for something different.

Strong pulls, especially considering the timing then.

Always next time for jokers and all that. Solid work was done, is the thing.
