Juggernaut accumulation phase
3s wave

Squat, low bar, beltless
325x3/3/3/3/3/3/4

Powershrug hell
135x10 225x10 straps on
315x10 405x10 belt on
495x10 versa gripps on straps off
585x6 PR

Rack Pull (24.5 inches to bottom of bar)
635x2/1 PR!

Squats extra tough, have some stomach queezyness. Couldn't brace properly.

Shrugs went amazing, all reps had a definite shrug, so form PR.

Big power shrugs, and a huge rack pull. Killing it! Smash the squats next time around.

Say, how did you get to handling 405 DOH without straps/gripps? Just gradual improvement over time, or some method or grip training thingy? For reference, I'm at ~350 or possibly 360 on a good day.

edit: Oops, I missed the bit about straps there. But still, I seem to recall you've deadlifted 405 DOH, without straps... and thanks for your reply. Cheers.

I've been pulling double overhand since I started 5/3/1 which was like a year ago. When I felt grip slipping I used straps(now versa gripps), but still pulled double overhand. No grip training. So a years worth of deadlifting, say 20 reps a week, would be like 1000 deadlifts worth of time under tension using double overhand.

Freakin killing it in here Fen!

BtB's Power-Shrugs took my deads to another level. Was careful not to overload the bar so I could still do the movement controlling the weight rather than it me.
Even that bench is looking good. You'll be repping 275 for 85% work, in 7 months.

For grip issues, you can do static holds with heavy weight or farmers walks - those I think are both very good. Or you can just use a hook grip. You will tear your thumb off before you drop the bar!

Yup I did. Was awesome! I can tell a set before grip failure happens. Past 405 would have needed straps that day.
