Okay, I missed a rep with bench, and I am not sure if it is due to the squat workload beforehand, or if my suspicions during the last cycle were correct. I tend to think that it is the latter.

I noticed a bit of a struggle with bench during the last cycle, and so I want to decide by Friday whether or not to reset my bench max and build back up. A couple of cycles ago, I started focusing on paused reps, and that may be the cause of my struggle.

I will more than likely do a reset for bench, and drop back 10 pounds from the last cycle, that will put be @ a 255 TM. Stay tuned.


I am pleased to have made such great gains throughout the first eight cycles, all while gaining very minimal weight. Accounting for water weight, I am right around 5-7 pounds heavier now than I was at the start of cycle one.

Congrats on ALL of the PRs Vin. Huge lifting!

Never hurts to reset. Dropping back 10lbs will only make you strong(er) in the long run. Plus it gives you the opportunity to go after some more rep PRs. Thats how I look at it anyway.

Well, not such a good session today, lol. I didn't even attempt the last squat rep. Even with a 10 lb reset, instead of a 5 lb jump, rep five with bench barely went up (pause reps are humbling me, lol) And the last rep of deads was a struggle, and yet I pulled a joker single @ 455 on Sunday.

A couple of things may have contributed, and I am by no means making excuses for my failure

1- A week or so ago I stopped taking creatine, as part of an experiment to see if it even helps me, maybe it does, lol.

2- I recently determined that my weight gain stalled, and just upped the calories by 300 a few days ago.


I don't know which, if either, could be my issue. I didn't deload after last cycle because I was planning on running six weeks then deloading, but I don't think that is the reason. I will see what happens on Sunday, and plan accordingly.

I just started taking creatine again, lol
