LOL that's a lot of reps, but they were probably a little short of parallel, just couldn't stretch the BD that far

I actually got a liftoff today for the 285 pause just to see how much of a difference it would make. Honestly I didn't notice a huge difference, but I think that is because I still have a lot of improvement I could make in tightness and arch.

And I'm sure nerves will be there in abundance, especially before that first squat

Good thing squats are first then - get them out of the way and mind for bench time. However, a good squat on that platform could also provide some great mental momentum when you hit the bench. Deadlifts are always a wild card at a meet since they are last and you never know how much ya got left.

I still stand by the notion you will not be overly nervous, as I think you have nerves of steel.

How 'easy' did the planned opener feel?
Considering the reps afterwards, I'd imagine pretty routine
