Best male lifter at my meet in June was the 165'er. He RAW deadlifted 565.

Some strength charts and misc. on MAB:

http://muscleandbrawn.com/forums/pow...standards.html

Strength Standards for Men - Muscle and Brawn - Bodybuilding and Powerlifting

http://muscleandbrawn.com/forums/pow...g-records.html

Beyond this I call tell you just from working with natural bodybuilders and powerlifters that you can get pretty darn strong and still weigh 200-220 and under. Most of these guys bench 300-350, squat around 470-500 and deadlift 550ish.

With time and hard work the minimum of 300, 400, 500 can be achieved in several years.

My training partner is right around 200lbs now at 5ft 11. It has taken him years to get there. He could walk into any gym in the country and hold his own, that includes westside. Strong is strong, guys who are "big" know that.

tom martin and lamar grant are bad examples...they have the leverages for pulling, and their other lifts pale in comparison.

just get as big/strong as you can, and don't worry about others.

I'm 5'9" and 195... my best raw lifts are 415 squat with belt and sleeves, 340 paused bench, and 480 deadlift...some other lifts are a 205x2 push press, 405x2 2 board bench, 21 pullups, not spectacular by any means but this is easily achievable by anyone... i dont have strong genetics to be strong, so thats just pure hard work. I weighed 155 when i graduated high school and that was after 3-4 years of working out... put in the work and keep at it. You'll create a better version of yourself and thats all you can ask for.

I would LOVE being in a gym w/ some big powerlifters! Dang, I better add in a "no homo" here.

I'm a little old man and I out work 95% of the guys in my gym. Age, size, gender, color, experience, etc does not matter....get in there, lift & learn.

I am also just dipping my big toe into the powerlifting waters, and I a pretty weak compared to almost everyone on here, but all I can do is get as strong as I possibly can...Right now, I am only competing with myself.

It's not about where you start it is where you finish that counts.

All that matters is one more rep. Anyone who tries to improve has my complete respect, regardless of weight.
