I now know that there is addictive additives in these junk foods. Additives that make us want to eat more of it. It makes us feel happy whilst we're eating that product.

I feel comfortable eating pizza, chocolate & all sorts of crap. Because it gets me in a comfortable state of mind. Come 5pm on the site, these guys want to get stuck into something greasy & fatty to comfort them from the crap day they've had on the site.

It just sickens me all of this because it's not for our own personal, nutritional benefit. It's all about putting $'s in Mr. X's pocket.
I don't actually understand which point it is that you're disagreeing with; I didn't say that junk food wasn't comfort food and I didn't say that healthy food was comfort food, I merely stated that to some their comfort food is a healthy food not necessarily a junk food...which can blur the line.

The main addictive ingredients in food are: sugar, salt, fat. Take the salt out of your boiled spuds and see how much of it people really want to eat; the only people that can handle saltless boiled spud are those that have been raised on it and those that have swapped across to it, everyone else thinks they taste disgusting.

If people removed salt from most of the foods they prepared, themselves, they wouldn't eat half as much of it; try it.
