Hate pumps. When I get then, I GET them. Shoulder and lower back pumps kill me. They are beyond painful. There have been some squat workouts when I accidentally took a minor amount of creatine where I would have to wait 20 minutes in between sets.

I was far less pump sensitive when i was smaller, for whatever reason.

I uysed to live for the pump. Then I realized if I just use a 15% weight and 100 reps, I get a similar pump. Clearly not the same, but I get the feeling.

Nowadays, or when I actually lift, if I ever get to lifting again, I go with working the muscle hard with short rep ranges and heavy weight, then progressing down a bit, then finishing off with a killer pump set. I get good work all around, and don't wind up overtraining.

I know what you mean. They can destroy your workout. I've just started on creatine again, and I respond to that with massive pumps. I like what the effect looks like, but man, it can hurt.

You're back does get a good workout while swimming, just take a look at any swimmers back! They're super wide. But your chest!? Being a lifeguard for years and growing up in and around swimming along with many other high level swimmers, i can tell you, i've never heard of chest pump while swimming ahaaa.

I've got a friend who's swam since he could walk, he's one of the best in Britain for his age, and his back is unbelievable, i sat behind him in a lecture and his back was hanging over the sides of the chair haaa. This is without serious gym work!
