Default Low Carb High Protein Diet Not Harmful to Kidneys

Quote:
Conclusions In healthy obese individuals, a low-carbohydrate high-protein weight-loss diet over 2 years was not
associated with noticeably harmful effects on GFR, albuminuria, or fluid and electrolyte balance compared with a
low-fat diet. Further follow-up is needed to determine even longer-term effects on kidney function.

Dropped this right into my dropbox, future reading. Not that I need any convincing. I have whole heartedly returned to low carb eating, let wife know and she was surprisingly okay with it. Even when I added carbs, I rarely went over 250g, which for the Average American is near starvation mode. Any way, thanks for the post BF.

This is hilarious. Slightly suggesting that it might have implications in even longer term use. Even though study shows no significant markers in 24 months. Lol. Yes all of a sudden you hit a protein limit and your kidneys shut down.
