7-10g of carbs per kg of bodyweight is INSANE. That would mean I'm supposed to eat around 900-1000g of carbs the day before an intense workout. That's idiotic, and a recipe to gain a shit ton of fat while simultaneously lowering my insulin sensitivity. I usually get 200-300g of carbs a day, and that's just plenty for me.

I have, however, tried high fat keto dieting in the past and it was a disaster. I've heard lots of success stories and I loved to eat that way (lots of ground beef and wings, what's not to like?), but if I go more than a couple days without getting more than 50g of carbs I crash hard. I lost around 100lb on my max squat in only a couple weeks of keto dieting with 1 high carb day per week.

These days if I want to change my intake I keep more or less the same ratio of macros and just adjust my calories.

I have always been low body fat practically my whole life. Until last few years I really only have visceral fat from inflammation due too my Gaul stone. My diet has almost always consisted of High protein, high fiber foods, I'm just naturally drawn too them. This article kind of makes me feel like I did it right my whole life but I have always had a problem with gaining lbs, I was 150 at 5' 11 until I was 32. Now I don't get the cardio I used too do and I eat a lot more carbs due too my wife's shopping style. I'm at 197-200 now and its all visceral.

All I know is that when I was consuming 70% simple carbs I was at 4% BF.

I only got fatter when I started worring about carbs and macros.

however, I was 139 @ 4% in my teens and up to age 20...after my first "bulk" i was 165 @ 8%, now 199 @ 16%...

high carbs/low bodyfat goes well with a runner or high intensity/high frequency athlete, but if you are a regular guy looking to gain muscle, expect to live in the 10-15% BF range
