I haven't posted since September but so much has gone on in my life since my first posts! My husband met another woman and left me after 22 years of marriage in Sept. He actually did me a favor by leaving and I am enjoying my new freedom! I started working at Walmart November 14th and really like it and my co-workers!

September 3rd I started a low carb diet thanks to my brother Steve helping me. I am still on it and doing well! My first post here back in Sept I weighed 241 and I 3.5 or so months later I am down to 211! 12lbs. Away from my first goal of 199 lbs!! I am feeling good and my clothes have grown! Loving it. I have a doc appt. Friday. Crossing my fingers!!

Welcome! Congratulations on your progress so far. Planty of info and encouragement here.

I, too, have struggled with weight problems all of my life. Even when I was in the best shape of my life (in the Marines) I was still fighting constantly to keep within the required weight guidelines. I have tried every diet known to man. willpower has never been a problem, but I just never seemed to be able to lose weight. The ONLY diet approach that ever worked for was the Atkins approach. (low/no carb like you are trying) My last year in the Marines I was running 6 days a week. The shortest distance was 3 miles, and the longest was 12 miles. I was still gaining weight. % years ago I tried the Atkins diet and lost 83lbs in 5 months without even exercising. I don't tell you this to recommend you not exercise. We all need exercise, if only to improve our cardio-vascular health. I tell you this as a fellow weight loss struggler so that you will know if you stick with that approach, it should work out just fine. Keep your head up, and your carbs down (I can't believe I said something THAT corny, lol). Good luck!

Congratulations, 30 lbs in 3 1/2 months is stellar progress. I bet it is reflecting positively on your blood sugar numbers.
