Had a bro teaching moment on squats today. I'm warming up and get to 225 when this guys asks me if he can work in. I say sure and he promptly throws on a couple of 25's and cranks out 10 1/4 rep squats @ 275. I pull the 25's off and step in with a buried paused single. He doesn't come back until I have 340 on the bar and have buried it for a single. He comes up to me and says, "dude how do your knees handle that?". I explained to him that his 1/4 squats were by far the worst thing he could do for his knees and the deeper the better. Of course he came back with "I've always been told to not go deep by my coaches". I told him his coaches were idiots.
