macros are the grams of protein (PRO), Carbohydrates (CHO) and fats (FAT) and their ratio.

PRO and CHO have 4 calories per gram. FAT has 9 calories per gram.

Most foods list the serving size and macros on the label.

for example....

this snickers bar has

14g of FAT = 126 calories (says 130)
34g of CHO (sugar) = 136 calories (fiber does not count against calories)
4g of PRO = 16 calories

So, percentage-wise it's: 46% FAT, 48% CHO and 6% PRO. A high, fat, high sugar, low-protein food.

You can eat a snickers bar, but it could be all your carbs for the day if you are eating keto!

Ok guys Wednesday my boss wants to take some of us out for lunch. I looked at the menu and I put my order in for a chef salad wanted some feed back on if this is a decent choice for me to stay in that keto zone. Wednesday will be day #3 of diet.
