I mean, if you were body building, I could see why you want to put on another 15 or 20 pounds, but all you need to do is lift heavy weight and get stronger." He then went on to talk about how power lifters didn't need steroids.
Davis, sorry to tell you this but your friend is right. Just look at guys like Brandon Lilly, the Lilliebridges, George Leeman, BtB, Jbyrd. All of those guys are very strong but they barely have any muscle it's all fat. Getting strong has nothing to do with muscle it's all about the CNS!

Instead of the proverbial falling tree, they philsophically wonder, If no one saw you curl, will your biceps grow?

Lifting while wearing a 30 dollar name-brand tank top, a 35 dollar name-brand hat, and 100 dollar designer headphones every time that you lift, is the only way to make gains.

Rule#10:do NOT use free weights,it will only lead to injury while machines give you the best range of motion without wasting your energy.

Always be psyched when warming up with a unloaded barbell!

Or better yet, NEVER warm up. Load up what the lead bro uses, then struggle to get 2 reps on your first set while pushing your ass into the air, because the first lift is ALWAYS bench.

Bro.

While I'm certainly not overly psyched on any lift until it has been completed, trying to match exactly how I set up and "psyche" with heavy weight is important to me with light weight. For me, it sets a tone for how I will attack every rep. Although, I do know what you are specifically referring to. Soldier is also dead on.

To be fair, there is definitely less arousal with the bar than 500 lbs, but my point remains the same.

Never pick anything up from the floor.

this includes your bench DBs, plates or a loaded barbell.

Also, never do any lift standing up. Using your legs to stabilize you will sap critical energy for looking at yourself in the mirror.
