The train wreck is back in action

Tried to comeback got frustrated with some health issues and quit again. Decied with a text that said powerlifting needs db to shake the rust off and get back to work

First little bit I was just playing around trying to see how week I was. Still isnt much rhyme or reason to what Im doing but Im about 16 weeks out from a meet.

First week back I worked up to 315x3 on a shitty bench at anytime fitness. Ive had some issues with that thing and decided its best to not try and bench heavy there.

Squat has been slightly incouraging. First week back I hit 625*2 in briefs, Ive seen went on to do a 755 in my gear and the weights are starting to feel light on my back.

Pull well I havent pulled enough to know. I hit 605 off a 2" mat and pulled 545x3 last night, that was a very hard 3.

Going to judge a meet this weekend then Im going to try and get back on blast. Its good to see life coming back to my training but its all very frustrating to know where I was one year ago and how much weaker I am. Im completely "supplement" free as well which is good but it isnt helping that I miss feeling like superman.

That 16 weeks is going to pass regardless.
Your body is going to change during that time. You'll either be in better shape and stronger or you'll slide the other direction.

Progress probably won't come at the rate it did before. Age, injuries, and no supplements take a toll.
If you are consistent in the gym it will come though, and that is what is most important.

Glad to see you posting and making a plan for the future D!

I'm really, really glad to see you are hitting the gym. Mentally and physically it does everybody a lot of good.
Sure can be tough to do sometimes, though haha. Life can get complicated, and it seems that often training is the first thing we put on hold.

This weeks training

getting back into the groove a bit.

Bench night
manpon presses
bar*5*2
135*5
185*5
225*3
work sets
275*3
315*3
335*3
365*1
395*1> very pleased

pin presses just a few inches off the chest
135*5
225*5
315*5

rope push downs
3 sets

face pulls
3 sets

band curls 3 sets

Squat night
Didnt have any real plan for tonight. Thought about suit work but didnt really want to so I just started squatting

bar*3*2
145*3
255*1
345*1
add belt
435*1
525*1 w/ wraps
615*miss> bad pick up but last week this fel like a shit ton on my back with breifs and suit bottoms. Im enoucraged here

pulls
225*1*2
315*1
add suit bottoms
405*1
straps up
495*1
545*3

csr
3 sets of 10

face pulls 5 sets

Pull sucks. Form is shit. I will work on that and get that dialed in. Squat felt better with finding my shelf. Bench I was very pleased with. When I got hurt I had some nerve damage on my left side so I had some numbness in that hand and the tricep by the elbow has atrophied. It seems to be firing harder now. I can see things improving which is all I can ask for. Im very encouraged to train for 16 weeks to see what happens. Im going to do a mini block and then dive into a 12 week cycle. I actually am starting to remember little things to do. Next week, lord willing I want to get back to 4 days a week up from 2-3.

Warm up to 335 raw
Added briefs couldn't move. Borrowed Cody's that were a size bigger

Work sets
565+60 chains *2
565+120 chains*2
565+150 chains*2

655+150 chains*1>high

Pretty pleased. Had to jet to go to job number 2. Strength is there need to tighten things up and work on flexibility. The stiffness is causing the form issues I do believe.
