Take a bit of time to appreciate the good things, and the good people, in your life. Realise how blessed you are, in whatever ways thet might be. We all have some things, and some people, in our lives that are truly awesome, beautiful, strengthening, helpful, humorous, inspiring, supportive...

Alternatively, if you prefer the short sharp shock approach, meditate on the fate of the poorest people in the world, who outnumber the rest of us by far, living in poverty, misery, sqaulor, hopelessness. Realise just how lucky you are, and in just how many ways (which again, leads to the first option)...

when i'm building up some stress i like to go and punch the heavy bag for as many rounds as i can until i have nothing left, i always feel more calm and relaxed and feel i am in a tranquil state for some time after.
