I don't feel that it is too expensive maybe more so than high carb eating, but worth every penny. . My biggest pro eating low carb? Unless you are cutting for a competition, you don't have to go crazy tracking everything. Eat lots of protein and fat until you feel satiated, stop and you will be fine.

My normal routine, the occasional bowl of steel cut oats in the morning and some Karbolyn around the workout. If I have simple carbs, it is usually at a Church function. Like Brute, I am under 100 g of carbs on off days.
