Our body's are machines. You car runs and performs better if you take care and put quality fluids and parts into it.

So stands to reason our body with good nutrition and putting the work in on the weights will perform better.

BUT not all cars can use the same parts or fluids as everyone can't use the same plan. BUT there are generals that help all as with cars. Like plugs, ignition and exhaust helps all cars perform better. Same as generals for humans. Great Stuff hear Steve. Great thread.

I like the car analogy. First, you have to tune the engine. That comes from hard work in the gym. If the engine isn't running well, you are in trouble. Next, you need fuel. The only caveat with fuel is that if you don't have enough, you won't go very far...even if the engine is tuned.

Yep and if there is crap or water (impureties) in the gas you will spit and spudder as the body with all junk (empty with nutritional value) food.

The car analogy is great. Being a person that heavily modifies his vehicle (jeep) I can see the similarities. Things like...

Bigger tires makes it easier to crawl over bigger rocks...Bigger muscles help lift bigger weights.

Skid plates on all the vital areas that might get destroyed by the rocks will make life easier and you won't have to fix things as often...stretch, pre-hab exercises, proper lifting form will keep you in the game.

Free flowing exhaust is expensive and hardly makes any difference except that it sounds cool and makes the driver think he's getting better performance...Some high priced supplements are a complete waste of money and have nothing but a placebo effect. Spend your money on things that really make a difference.

I could come up with a lot more, this is fun.

Two more car analogies-

1. The more specialized a vehicle is for a certain job, the less it will be able to do other jobs. Big trucks are powerlifters, race cars are sprinters, cross overs are cross fitters, which is why they never seem to be that good at anything at all!

2. If you're going to let someone else touch your undercarriage, it's worth it to spend a little extra for the best!
