Default Too much protein?

BTB got me thinking. Why do some people think that if you eat over 150 grams it's a huge issue and you are schwanging on supplement companies but they don't hesitate to advise an unbalanced amount of carbs?

Your body never needs more than 30 grams and frequent feeding is just a way to get you to eat more protein so the supplement companies make more money.

Time to play Devil's advocate.

If you never, ever, ever, ever need more than 30 grams per meal do you listen to your body when you're really hungry or stop eating protein because of this rule?

If you never, ever, ever, ever need more than 30 grams per meal and frequent feeding is a myth do you ever recommend eating more than 90 grams of protein per day?

If frequent feeding is a myth then why does this eating approach work for everyone that uses it?

Intermittent fasting works just as good but it's not as profitable.

This can't be true. People are different, and so are their bodies. There's no way that 30g protein is all that the body of a 5'8" 180lber can handle, and the same for a 6'2" 275lber?

No way.

I agree with you. I have heard this debate over and over again. What's the harm in even eating 40 grams per meal or eating more when you feel hungry? I would rather land on the safe side than to undereat.

Then I see these same guys talking about how everyone is different. I guess this doesn't apply to protein?

Protein, Carbs and Fat %'s/grams in your diet should all be based on your w/o's and LBM. NOT a general set point.

Every bodybuilder in the last 40 years is uneducated and has it wrong? If they are using it, and it is working, I would say they have protein feedings pretty well under control.

Furthermore, Lyle McDonald is not exactly a bodybuilder.
