A ketogenic diet is very a low carb diet to go into ketosis- a process that essentially uses fats instead of glucose for energy.(Someone correct me if I'm wrong in saying that) Some people say no more than 20g of carbs a day, and others may recommend as high as 50 grams will still allow ketosis. As far as I can tell, a lot of people who claim to eat paleo are just eating low-carb diets though.
