macros are the grams of protein (PRO), Carbohydrates (CHO) and fats (FAT) and their ratio.
PRO and CHO have 4 calories per gram. FAT has 9 calories per gram.
Most foods list the serving size and macros on the label.
this snickers bar has
14g of FAT = 126 calories (says 130)
34g of CHO (sugar) = 136 calories (fiber does not count against calories)
4g of PRO = 16 calories
So, percentage-wise it's: 46% FAT, 48% CHO and 6% PRO. A high, fat, high sugar, low-protein food.
You can eat a snickers bar, but it could be all your carbs for the day if you are eating keto!
