Thanks so much Been, Ravi, Jay, Alan, Rich, and Fen. You guys are all the best.
I just got back from the Eye Centre. It appears as tho I developed complications from the laser Surgery I had a couple of weeks ago. The surgeon had no choice at the time, as he had to stop the bleeding that was present at the time. He said it should settle down any day. There is some more permanent damage tho. This is what he meant by saying he doesn't know what to do and that it is now untreatable.
There is some faint hope however. He has booked an appointment with a certain specialist that may be able to treat the Birdshot systemically. It is set for March 12th. Apparently, these drugs are really powerful and nasty and can only be prescribed by this Specialist and if all my blood work supports the decision to do so. He wouldn't get into the side effects. I am guessing they are drugs that tamper with the immune system, which is the culprit attacking my eyes and causing the inflammation. He did say, however, that my internal health test results, taken just last August, may just be my ticket to successful treatment. I do have the internal health of a fit 25 year old. Maybe, just maybe, all my hard work since I turned 40 will really pay me dividends now. Who would have thunk that a long term clean, healthy, and gluten free diet and an active, long term resistance based training regimen just may save my eyesight?
This has also now placed extra importance on this cut. It's in my best interest to be at optimum health in order to be a candidate for this medication.
JB has emailed me week 8 of the program and I am chomping at the bit to get started Saturday. I'll be benching some big numbers and I will be repping 410 on squat. 2 reps is scheduled but I will be gunning for a triple.
My lower back is feeling really good.
