Non-Linear Periodization

I was doing some reading on non-linear periodization (editing 2 articles atm), and was wondering what your thoughts were on LP for muscle growth and strength gains?

I have to side with the west side boys on this one, in that for anyone who needs to train multiple skills such as athletes should not use a LP plan, but if for instance you wanted to focus on one specific skill such as maximal strength (of course there should be some over lapping skill improvement for other areas) then it maybe fine for a short duration.

I'm looking at it primarily from a muscle growth standpoint; from the lens that different rep ranges are needed to amplify hypertrophy...lower rep strength training and moderate/standard rep hypertrophy training.

The type of NLP that Norton and Goodin do. From Layne:

"I think non-linear undulating periodization is the most proven form of training out there and almost all forms of training I do are some form of it."
