Overrated and underrated
I saw this topic on another forum and thought I would bring it up here.
What are the most overrated and underrated routines or exercises.
Overrated exercise: dumbbell laterals
Underrated exercise: close grip bench presses
Overrated routine: anything high volume that takes over an hour
Underrated routine: powerlifting routines for muscle mass
Overrated exercise: close grip bench presses
Before I get everyone all mad, I believe high volume routines are ok for some, but I think they are the most overrated routines because of how they are pushed in the magazines.
Overrated exercise: Flyes. I just don't see the usefulness of this exercise as it tweaks the shoulders and doesn't overload the chest. Grind, shoulders, grind.
Underrated exercise: Good mornings. This has to be at the top of the list.
Overrated routine: Anything labeled as the be all end all for all.
Underrated routine: Max-stim. Even though I don't like resting between each rep, the idea of controlled fatigue is worth exploring.
