Hello From Aqeel

Hello from England.
My very first question to the forum.
I did G.V.T for round about 5 weeks. Just out of boredom, decided to increase some weights and work on my upper body only.
I was astonished that the strength in my compound lifts improved.
Power clean and press. 70kg x5
Bench Press 110kgx 4

Before G.V.T
Power clean and press. 60kgx4
Bench Press. 100kg x4.

I don't understand how clearly,this happened,need help to clear what happened.:ms:

Welcome to the forum.

You built muscle, which helps with strength, and you pushed your muscles to adapt to a different type of strength training. GVT can build strength, just like any other program.

GVT was actually developed to help strength trainees.

It is said that the German Volume Training (GVT) method, or the use of a 10 set x 10 rep scheme, was popularized by German national weight lifting coach Rolf Feser. It was used as an off-season method, with a two-fold goal:
  1. Assist lifters with building muscle mass.
  2. Help lifters burn off unwanted body fat.
It was rumored that German Volume Training was such an effective muscle building system that it was not uncommon for members of the weight lifting team to move up a weight class after only 12 weeks.

Hello Every one.
I seem to be making an assumption for which I need correction if needed.
My bodyweight hovers between 121 to 124 kg. But strength levels on my powerlifting do not match close to those body weight of mine.
Would losing bodyfat weight help my up my strength levels,or some thing like that.
Please do explain the principle,or had any experiences similar to mine.
Squat : 115kg
Bench Press: 115kg
Deadlift: 160kg.
