protein bars, do you?

Do you eat protein bars, and if so which ones? If not, do you feel they are just glorified candy bars?

I used to. Just don't anymore because I pack my protein powder on the road.

Big fan of: Detour (Low Sugar variety) and Quest bars

I eat em. "Oh Yeah" are my favorite BECAUSE they taste like glorified candy bars!

I do. I used to eat Detour and now eat Big Collosal.

If you eat these MC...then I am switching right now!

LOL! The Big Collosal bars run between 380 and 420 calories depending on the flavor (oreo, peanut butter, apple)

I'll definitely grab one if I'm out and about and don't have any protein with me. Pure protein bars always seem to have the best bang for your buck when it comes to total grams of protein. I usually only get one if it's post-training so I tend to not worry about the sugar and crap that goes in them. Honestly, a candy bar with extra protein is what I'm looking for at that point.

I used to buy the Quest bars but their too dame expensive and I dont believe their claims. They taste to good be that healthy.

I did start making my own at home with Oats, Protein powder, peanut butter, honey , craisins & nuts. They make for an OK snack to take to work, but I honestly think the pre-packaged ones you buy at supplement shops are just glorified candy bars.

P.S. If you want homemade bars to taste like quest bars, you have to pour a ton of sweetener in them. Thats why I dont believe their claims.

I use balance bars as a breakfast substitute when I'm running a bit late or am not feeling hungry. Love the convenience.

Gatorade whey recovery bars. So good. They had a recall b/c they didn't put on the wrapper something about peanut allergies but they will be back soon. taste great and a good ratio!
