Barbell twist challenge

A generalised challenge, for anyone that would like to participate this month, post up your results, experiences of it in this thread.

Challenge specifics:

Using one hand only, hold a barbell out vertically, away from the body.
Twist the barbell to horizontal (palm facing down) and then back to vertical.
Twist it back to horizontal etc.

Use a lighter barbell, if required. How many reps can you manage? Please join in, for fun and for the personal satisfaction.

I used a lighter 5kg barbell and managed 2 reps on either side but am going to give this another shot with a slightly heavier barbell...an oly barbell would be far too heavy for me, at this stage.

My total: 2 reps each side (with 5kg barbell)

If you want a great overal core workout, this is your lift
Gave this another try, this evening, with the same barbell and...

New total: 6 reps per side (1 set, 5kg barbell)

Awesome exercise. Can not wait to test it out. Looks like it really would work the core good, which I think would be great to add to the routine.

This is my max load, I reckon, at least for now; one of my problems will be adding weight because it has to be added to the ends of the barbell and not spread out overall but 7kg is a hefty enough load, for me.

My total: 1 rep each side (7kg using a 5kg barbell)

I tried this with a full size bar (20kgs) and failed. Going to try the EZ bar @ 10kgs next time.

I found out, today, that chalk makes little to no difference where the grip is concerned or it didn't for me anyway, back to the drawing board, for me, on that one.

Interesting. I want to test this one out. I think that tonight may be the night to do so. Always looking for some fun and interesting challenges to keep my body surprised.
