Default Meet Write Up

Meet went alright today, I will start off by saying that this was the most poorly run meet I have ever seen. There was basically one judge. Both of the other judges would look at the head guy before they made a decision. This guy was also running the meet, taking your next attempt and running back and forth. I feel I got screwed a little on my squat depth. Brian agreed with me and if they are deep enough for him, they are deep enough for me.

Here is how they went
Squat
415-smoked, easy. Knee wraps were barely even on, hit depth fine. Thought it was going to be a good day.
455-went up fast and smooth, called for depth. Surprise to me! Knee wraps felt better, hit pretty close to the same depth as 415. Brian said to go up another 10 pounds and sink it. Every lifter that was standing around said it was a good lift
465-definitely hit depth. Called for it again. The judge comes over and Brian says that was a good squat. He tried to explain his reasoning and brian simply says NO, that was a good squat. Whatever time to move on.
*By the way, 465 is a huge PR for me!

Bench Press-overall great!
315-smoked it, good pause and got it! Meet PR!
330-little slower but I got it! Good lift, big PR!
340-Got crushed, just did not have it.

Deadlift
*decided to go conventional, just feel stronger there.
515: crushed!!
560: PR, this went well. Hips popped up as usual.
600: SO CLOSE, got it to about 3 inches from lock out and it was just not moving. Need to do more heavy rack work and shrugs!

Here is a link to the videos that the guys from my gym took. He also left some comments about my squat depth!

VIP TRAINING AND STRENGTH SPORT - Professional Sports Team - Yardley, PA | Facebook

Overall a very good day, I am happy with my numbers. The main thing I see is that I am making progress. Squats felt great, and I had a lot more in me. Deadlifts, I had to try 600. Would have been the biggest dead of the day, as you can see in the video it is soooo close! I am very happy with how I did. I think in the video I definitely sunk the 465 enough. Brian thinks they were not looking at the crease of my hip. He felt they were all deep enough. He told the judge that I train my athletes to hit depth, they don't need to any further.

Would have been an awesome total if my lefts would have counted:
465,330,560: 1355

I did learn a lot from this meet. Basically I peaked too early off of juggernaut. That needs to be saved for far away from comps. I need to hit more heavy singles about 6 weeks out to get more of an idea of what I am going to hit. And get comfortable with it.

I froze the frame several times and it look good. Congrats on the 465 PR. Judges or not you got it done.

Thought you had that. So damn close.

Overall man you're right on the bubble of hitting 1400 right now. A few weeks on the deadlift and you're there. That's great work.
