one thing that newer bodybuilders dont take into account is the drug factor as well. there is a reason that ifbb pros can work out with 35 sets of chest and eat 6k cals while cutting.
as far as p/lers go, dont be the guy who is so focused on getting super strong now that oyu compromise the future. 100 punds on you total every year is 600 pound increase in 6 years.
