Personal choice mate, some people may pull better with one than the other. It also depends on leverages and whatnot. I gave sumo a go last year and it just hurt my adductors so stopped it. Might give it another go sometime, but for now I prefer conventional. Definitely worth trying out though.

I take it the rack height/mono lift can be altered to suit each individuals needs? I think, I noticed it slightly lower in the second lift but can't be sure, so just confirming.

Yes they can adjust the height of the monolift. They can also bring the arms in or out depending on how wide your hand placement is.
